Market Synopsis

Medical waste management defines the appropriate processing from generation to disposal of waste materials produced by healthcare institutions. Medical waste comprises of all waste generated at healthcare facilities including hospitals, clinics, blood banks, dental laboratories, veterinary hospitals along with medical research centers. Inadmissible handling of waste generated in healthcare facilities roots a major health impact on the community, the health care workers and surrounding environment as it has serious potential to spread infection. According to Turkish Statistical Institute, around 74.5 thousand tonnes of medical waste was collected in 2014.
