Shotcrete/Sprayed Cement Market - Global Market Synopsis, Growth Factors, Industry Segmentation, Regional Analysis And Competitive Analysis 2017 - 2025

ID: 111799 March, 2018 Region : Global Pages Reports Monitor

Shotcrete/Sprayed Cement Market By Types Of Cements (Rapid Hardening Cement, Low Heat Cement, Sulphate Resisting Cement, White Cement, Waterproof Cement, High Alumina Cement & Others), Process (Wet Spraying & Dry Spraying) & Applications (Underground Construction, Water Retaining Structures, Protective Coatings, Free Formed Structures & Repair Works).

Market Scenario

Concrete is probably the most versatile material used in the construction industry. In compression it is strong enough to form the basic material for the most massive structures. Before it has set its fluidity allows it to assume the most complex shapes. Indeed, and with addition of steel reinforcement, there are virtually no elements of a structure that cannot be formed from concrete. Sprayed concrete were widely used for repair work and also adopted for new construction. The current acceptance is that “Shotcrete” is used in the USA and “Sprayed Concrete” is the more widely used term in Europe. There are a number of Shotcrete/sprayed concrete providers in European region; these service providers use various processes such as dry spraying and wet spraying to construct and repair.

The shotcrete cement industry is characterized by continues technological advancement in materials utilized for Shotcrete construction such as cements, equipment’s, processes and chemicals. Thus the enhanced products are responsible for improved structural and mechanical strength of the constructed infrastructure. For instance, in January 2018 the Kryton International Inc. launched a concrete hardening admixture namely Hard-Cem, which increases erosion and abrasion resistance of concrete. The unique technology of this admixture can extend concretes overall life by up to 6 times facilitating its application in horizontal, inclined and vertical Shotcrete and concrete surfaces. The product is also expected to cut costs by reducing requirement of expensive repair works and maintenance due to extended wear and tear life of concrete offered by Hard-Cem.

Significant metropolitan growth and rapidly growing urban population is responsible for increasing demand of public infrastructure such as underground rail-network, road tunnels and parking lots. In addition, expanding underground industrial activities such as mining, water and sewage treatment plants are fuelling the demand of underground constructions.

Segmentation
